Darren Ashley
Darren joined Lay’s in 2017. He has 35 years of experience in the industry split between Bonhams, Sotheby’s and Phillip’s and so brings lots of insight into how different auction houses work. Darren has been working hard to make the most of his past experiences to help grow Lay’s and has had recent success with the launch of our inaugural Asian Sale, the first of its kind in the South West.
He specialises in Asian Ceramics and Furniture and has a passion for rugs and carpets unlikely to be surpassed anywhere else in the county.
Darren is our Head Valuer and Auctioneer and he oversees the cataloguing of our Antique and Specialist Sales and is a highly valued member of the team. He visits clients houses regularly as well as valuing items brought into the auction house.
